Where to start: (Normal mode only)

Grunt What to do, what to do?
Bare-handed You are rather 'hemmed-in' here, with the only move that is available to you being to pick up that Coin (Coin #001) right next to you. After you do that, you have four choices:
  1. move right back where you came from (nah)
  2. step into the Hole (nah)
  3. move due south, where your only move is to return due north (nah)
  4. pick up the Springz (Tool #1) ... (yeah!)
Springz Where can you go, now that you have those Springz?
Obviously, you still have all of the optionz you had without them, but now you also can jump over the Spikez and into the Blue Wormhole (BW). (Do it.)
It is a good thing you are wearing those Springz, because there are a lot of Spikez and Holez that are hazardous to a Grunt'z health.
To make matterz worse, there are some Green Pyramidz (GP) at strategic pointz in the path you have laid out.
So the timing of your jumpz is very important to your well-being.
"Hey! Watch it! Those thingz could knock me into a Hole , or onto Spikez so I would lose my Springz!"
The hidden enemy Grunt sayz "That's the general idea."
Then you hear a wormhole open up. It's a Red Warp (RW)!
No telling how long it will stay open, so you'd better make trackz toward it, or it might disappear before you can use it.
You can't avoid picking up a Coin (Coin #002) in your path, but wisely choose not to detour for one out of your path. Just as it is starting to close, you jump through.
"That was a trip!"
You see a Coin (Coin #003) and a Warp letter .
Perhapz there is something else around of value to you in your quest for the Warpstone.
You cover all the basez, then exit via the return wormhole.
Remembering the Coin (Coin #004) you bypassed in your haste to reach the RW , you head back that way to get it.
Then back down to satisfy the CheckPoint Switch (CPS) with your 'name' on it.
What's this? Another Coin (Coin #005) hidden in the treez.
Through the BW and on to your next adventure.
"This place lookz familiar." It should ... it's where you started out your quest.
Only now an obstacle (a CheckPoint Pyramid ) has been removed , and you can reach the Gauntletz (Tool #2) a few stepz away.
Gauntletz There are some breakable objectz here, so get to work!
(But watch out for booby-trapz under some of those Ice Crystalz . Too late? Sorry. Perhapz you should read ahead for thingz like this.)
A Coin (Coin #006) has been revealed, so you pick it up.
Prepared to flee from trouble, you break the remaining two Ice Crystalz .
Do you trade in your Gauntletz for the Bootz you can now reach?
(Not if you have been paying attention to "GooRoo's Rulez", you don't.
You SAVE and go through the BW with the Tool you have now.
That way, if you have the wrong Tool, you restore and take the Bootz.)

"I don't like the lookz of this!" Having handz that look like mittonz, and feet that look like you are wearing slipperz, you can only count to six.
There are a lot more disGruntled onez here than that!

You can see that the only wayz off this island are through a BW (blocked by some CheckPoint Pyramidz ) (CPP), and an incomplete Bridge leading toward the south ... with three rather unfriendly looking Gruntz and some Black Pyramidz (BP) between you and that Bridge.
The gearz in the computer between your earz (do Gruntz have ears?) takez in the information your eyez supply to it:
  • three Black One-Time Switchez (BOTS)
  • three setz of BPz
  • three missing Bridge Tilez
  • three Blue Toggle Switchez (BTS) ... two have unfriendly Gruntz standing on them ... widely separated.
Problem: how to toggle the Bridge Tilez up ?
Solution: eliminate said Gruntz, and do it yourself!

Complication: you cannot reach either Grunt standing on the BTSz .
Idea: remove the BPz hemming them in.

"Whoa! Momma didn't raise any stupid Gruntz!
If I set them free, they're going to turn me into Goo!"

Well, use 'hit and run' tacticz, then.
"I'm not at all sure about the 'hit' part, and there aren't too many placez I can 'run'."
Well, can you 'run and hide'?
"Maybe. Let's see what this Green Toggle Switch (GTS) does. Ah! A place I can hide."

Make a circuit around the area, carefully avoiding any BOTSez , and break the four Giant Ice Crystalz and any small Ice Crystalz that will not free any enemy gruntz.
Remember, you need to get to the BTS under the enemy Grunt , and the BTS under the other enemy Grunt to toggle the Bridge up , and past the Gruntz to actually use the Bridge.
So you need to release all three groupz of enemy Gruntz.
"If I live through this, remind me to send the designer of this game some hate mail!"
SAVE before you do anything rash!

Oh! I almost forgot. You also need to have the Goo from at least eight of those disGruntled onez, enough to bake two new Gruntz .
And another thing; you have to have perfect health when you cross that Bridge.

(Cut away from the carnage, to spare the faint of heart. Some time later, the Bridge is complete, Gauntletz has perfect health, and there are at least eight Goo Puddlez in sight.)

Now you can go down and satisfy that CPS .

"What is the deal with all these Arrowz?" It's a piece of cake, Grunt!
Just make your way through the maze to that Green Wormhole (GW) over there.
"Ow! That hurt, man! Just wait until I get my gauntletz on you."
You step off with Goo in your eyez, just itching to 'break something'.
Oops! Seemz you took a wrong turn there somewhere. Restore and try again.
That 'bent piece of wood' whapz you up side the head three timez, and you're seeing quadruple and about to provide material for the oven when you land on "A bottle of Zap Cola !", and start feeling better.
Just one more step takez you to that GW and safety.
"You call this safe!?!" Two Gruntz send big lumpz of coal your way, and only your quick (flat) feet take you out of harm's way. "I need a little elbow room here."
So you break a Ice Crystal or two , giving you more optionz of where to go (and a bottle of Zap Cola , if you need it). You see a stairway, and head for it.
"Clean-up on aisle three!" You eliminate the obstaclez on the stairway ... a bit tough when you have to keep one eye on the Grunt over here, one eye on the Grunt over there, and one eye on what you want to break . A quick count showz that you come up a bit short in the eye department, being a binocular type Grunt. Somehow you manage the task. Under the obstaclez were a couple of Toolz, a set of Gauntletz (already have those!) and a Shovel . Seeing nothing else breakable that you can reach, you elect the Super-duper-pooper-scooper (Tool #3))
Shovel Use it to do what it does best ... turn a Hole into a Mound so you may exact a bit of respect from the enemy Gruntz who have harassed you.
Before you do any 'treasure hunting', you should rid the area of missile launcherz .
Once there are four Purple Goo Puddlez , and the air is once again clear, you may explore the plateau, to fill in any dangerous Holez , and see what you can dig up from Moundz , such as a Coin (Coin #007) and a can of Zap Cola ... and a Purple Multi-Grunt Switch PMGS).
Then turn the Holez surrounding the plateau into Moundz , and SAVE before you dig up any Moundz ... there may be thingz uncovered that you are not prepared to use, so be sure that you do not dig yourself into a corner, where you are forced to pick up something that you neither need, nor want. One Mound yieldz a Coin (Coin #008) atop a GTS . Another Mound will reveal a GooberStraw .
Still another Mound will reveal a set of Gauntletz .
Are you forced to pick up either of those Toolz? If so, aren't you glad you SAVEd?
Now think ahead a moment. There is already a set of Gauntletz in plain sight. So don't dig up the second set! But it is a good idea to dig up the GooberStraw (from the south side, so you are not forced to pick it up).
Remember those Moundz back in the battle area?
And that GW in the Arrowz maze?
See that GW in the north center of this plateau?
Maybe that will take you back to the battle area, where there are thingz you may dig up ... and Goo Puddlez you (or another Grunt) could suck up to make teammatez.
You wisely choose to keep the shovel, and go through the GW .
You dig up the contentz of four Moundz , pocketing the Coin (Coin #009) you find. Do you need any of the other itemz?
  • the Beach Ball ... doesn't hurt ... you may put it down any time.
  • the GunHat ... long range devastation ... any target(z) in mind?
  • the SpongeGun ... any Grunt(z) you want to move around?
Is it time to consider a change of Tool? Yep, so pick up Tool #4.
GunHat Payback time! You send some lead flying in the direction of an enemy Grunt , leaving a quivering puddle of Goo behind.
Perhapz, remembering the bangz on the head from the bent wood , you decide to take it out on the five milquetoast typez to the east.
Consider the situation before you do anything rash, though. Five Gruntz; five PMGSz .
Does that suggest anything to you? Without any missilez flying at you, you put the safety on the cannon and head through the Arrowz once again.
When you actually have a choice of where to go next, you SAVE and do some experimenting. If you were surprised, you can continue the game.
"This place hasn't changed a lot. But another BW may now be reached. Do you want to put on those Gravity Bootz Tool #5 before you make your jump?
Bootz Ignore the enemy Grunt that slung lead at you while you had your own GunHat .
Just go step on that BTS , and come back and satisfy the CPS .
Then it is time to scramble your atomz again.
"How many timez am I going to come back here, anyway?" This is the last time ... I promise.
There is only one BW left, and a Shovel near it.
Grab the Tool #6 and see if you can't tidy up this place before you leave.
Shovel Your diligent work rewardz you with a couple of Coinz (Coinz #010 and #011).
Then it's "beam me up, Scotty!"
You land a bit out of the range of that Boomerang Grunt you wisely passed by without filling him full of lead.
That's fortunate, because you have absolutely no where to duck, should he send his bent wood your way!
Note: there are a lot of Holez around here ... and a few Holez as well.
You need only concern yourself with the specially marked onez ... the rest are empty.
It would certainly make life easier if there weren't all these Rolling SnowBallz (RSB) criss-crossing the area! So do something about it!
Find a way to send them somewhere else ... anywhere else.
You turn a Mound into a Hole and those spherez begin dropping out of sight.
Just what the doctor ordered!
And you can see something shining in the bottom of the shaft, so make a note to check it out later.
What workz well for one, should work twice as well for two, right? When the area is considerably quieter, you put the shovel to work again, and turn up some Toolz:
  • Gauntletz
  • SpyGlass
  • SpongeGun
The SpongeGun won't 'encourage' the enemy Grunt to do what I implied you need him to do ... from anywhere you can reach right now. You need to get outside this area before it will do you any good.
You see a few of Death Brickz (DB), and experience tellz you that where there are correctly marked onez, there will quite likely be several more that have not been properly marked ... and deadly to break with the Gauntletz .
So it appearz that your best choice of a new Tool is the Spy Gear (Tool #7).
SpyGlass Use your equipment to identify the contentz of all of the Brickz surrounding your area.
Then go pick up something (Tool #8) with which you can break Brickz!
Gauntletz There are no two wayz about it; you will have to break Brickz until your Gauntletz fall off.
That meanz you only swat those that are really BBz or RBz , and the first RB you swat will also be the last one you will be able to swat.
When you swat the correct RB , pick up the SpongeGun (Tool #9).
SpongeGun Make your way around to that enemy Grunt , and 'persuade' him to stand on the Blue Hold Switch (BHS) for a while.
Try not to fall into any Holez , or cut your feet on any Spikez .
You say there are Gruntz who have different ideaz about where you should go (one grunt should just be a Goo Puddle now)?
Use the SpongeGun to show them why you want to avoid Holez and Spikez .
Then do your 'persuasive best' to gain the (unwilling) assistance of the enemy Grunt to provide you with a way out.
If you prove 'persuasive' enough, you can jump through that return RW you were unable to reach earlier.
No choice but to go through that GW you have used so many timez before.
You may think it is time to do some sucking, but there is still some work to do with your SpongeGun . Go through the GW near you and use some friendly persuasion on five timid enemy gruntz to get four of them to stand on four of the five nearby PMGSz ... and the fifth to move a little closer to the fifth one.
You should now go in search of that GooberStraw (Tool #10) you dug up and left behind.
GooberStraw Start out with the four Goo Puddlez you created not far away from where you are right now, baking a new Grunt to help you out.
It is time to put together a team to help you complete the Level.
As new Gruntz are baked and placed into the game, you may begin assigning them taskz, working simultaneously to speed up the (eventual) solution.
When this area has been cleaned up, go in search of the other Goo Puddlez that are littering the playing field (there must be eight of them, and may be as many as ten you can reach).
Bare-handed #2 Not very far away from the GruntCreationPad (GCP) you can see a set of Gauntletz (Tool #11). Go get them!
Gauntletz #2 Break everything in sight, until you cannot directly reach anything breakable.
Do not exchange your Tool for another one, if you can possibly avoid it.
Two more team memberz should be joining you shortly, and they will be Bare-handed .
Let them pick up any Tool that may be between you and your next task.

Your next task is to break the Giant Ice Crystal

which revealz several smaller Ice Crystalz with a Coin (Coin #014) in the middle

Then you break some of the smaller Ice Crystalz , and pocket the first Coin and then two otherz (Coinz #015 and #016).
Bare-handed #3 Not very far away from the GCP you can see a Shovel (Tool #12). Go get it!
Shovel #3 Where you entered the game, there is only one Mound needing your attention.
After you have taken care of that, see if you can be of any assistance in lowering some strategic Purple Pyramidz (PP) by standing on a PMGS .
Then go through the GW and make your way to the Gauntletz CPS and from there to the Yellow Toggle Switch (YTS) and wait for another team member to assist you on your way. (Trust me, you cannot get where you need to be by yourself.)

Synchronize your watch with your buddy, and be at the appointed place, at the appointed time.
If you execute perfectly, your future course of action will leave you very little choice.
"There is no 'try'; do, or do not." So you 'do'.
And then you continue on to the GW .
Take heart! You are on the downhill side of this "Uphill Battle".
You are going to go through a GW , and no GW will ever be used again.
Do you have a Toy? If not, does another grunt have it, to be able to give it to you?
With the Toy in hand, go through the BW near the CPS .
Go get the Warpstone , using your Beach Ball (if necessary) to distract the enemy Grunt , while you make your escape.
"Where's the Warpstone ?" you ask? Seek, and ye shall find.
You may have a lot of seeking to do before you succeed in the 'finding', though.
Begin by looking for anything you can use that shovel on, doing your part for the environment by filling in any dangerous Holez , and digging up any Moundz you may find, smoothing them out so that no one could tell there was ever a blemish on the landscape.
If you hear a ticking sound when you smooth out a Mound ... move ... and observe the resultz .
Quit complaining that "My legz feel like they're made out of Goo". They are!
Use them to carry you and that shovel anywhere there is work to be done.
You can choose between moving west to the 'G' of "Gruntz", or back east to the 'n' ... whichever choice you make, remember to go the other way next.
Let us assume that you move west. If there is not a complete Bridge to the Coin in plain sight, you have missed a BTS somewhere, and need to restart from a previous SAVE ... if not all the way from the beginning.
If the Bridge is complete ... go get the Coin (Coin #031)!
Do you see a strange marking, like an arrow pointing east? Investigate it!
Dig up the Mound and pocket another Coin (Coin #032).
Then go fill in the Holez near the group of Giant Ice Crystals and dig up the Mound until something startz ticking.
Then go down and pick up the Coin (Coin #033) during the noise-making.
Now go back north and turn Holez into Moundz , and Moundz into ordinary tilez , and pick up a Coin (Coin #034) and the Warp letter .
Only go through that BW if you searched the 'n' and 'r' of "Gruntz" thoroughly.
Surely you will turn up something.
Bare-handed #4 With the assistance of other team memberz, you acquire the Weapon (Tool #13) near the GCP , and activate an Orange Up/Down Switch (OU/DS).
Boomerang #4 Now another team member can take a position on the PMGS that had been blocked by three Orange Pyramidz (OP).
That lowerz some PPz , so you can activate another OU/DS .
Then do what comez naturally.
There are no disGruntled onez that you can reach left in the game, so you no longer need that Boomerang . If there is another Tool somewhere, you may pick it up now.
Your buddy with the GooberStraw is in the same situation ... there is no more Goo that can be reached and added to the Goo Well.
Whoever is closest to the SpongeGun (Tool #17) should go get it, and whoever is closest to the Gauntletz (Tool #18) should get them.
SpongeGun #1 or #4 There is a SecretTriggerSwitch somewhere on the map. No Grunt may reach it unaided. Your task is to assist another team member in the task of reaching that SecretTriggerSwitch. Remember, you cannot shoot at your own team member, so you have to shoot at a place where such a team member will be. Good hunting, Grunt!
Shovel #3 Make your way up the Toggling Bridge into the 'n and dig up the center Mound , revealing a pair of Gauntletz (Tool #14).
Gauntletz #3 Time to break stuff! You get a brand new set of Gauntletz , and the first thing you find by breaking Ice Crystalz is ... a Shovel !
"What a waste! Get a new Tool and only use it once before throwing it away in favor of the same kind of Tool you just had!"
Don't be too hasty. There is another Ice Crystal you can see, and reach ... if you just step around that shovel.
And you should also remember the Brickz that were partially blown up when you cleaned up that booby-trapped Hole a little while ago.
You couldn't reach it then, because of all the Brickz in the way.
With those Gauntletz , you could finish the job .
Wouldn't that clear the way to one more Hole that you saw on your recent clean-up tour with the shovel?
Go ahead ... take a hike. You can come back and pick up the Shovel (Tool #15) later.
Shovel #3 You do a thorough job of smoothing out Holez and Moundz , and pocket a couple Coinz (Coinz #029 and #030) for your trouble.
If you didn't take care of everything around the big "G" in "Gruntz", do so now.
At timez, you should just step back and admire the resultz of your handiwork.
Then it's back to the old 'heave-ho' ... filling in and digging up until everything is neat and smooth.
Confident that you have done all that you can do in this area, you go through the BW .
Don't look at me that way!
I didn't say you wouldn't be going through any more wormholez ... I said you wouldn't be going through any more green wormholez. This one is blue.
You and your buddiez have been to this area several timez, and often wondered what those Silver Timer Switchez (STS) would do. Now is the time to find out!
Have you SAVEd lately? If not, this is a perfect time to do so.
Then step on the STS .
If you see the glass as half full, you set out in pursuit of the Silver Pyramidz (SP) as they lower , allowing you to pass over them.
If you see the glass as half empty, you stand and observe.
Eventually, you make it to the vicinity of the BW .
Do you step on the Yellow Toggle Switch (YTS) before jumping through?
(You do, if you want to finish the Level.) "Hallelujah!" Something sure happened!
But what? And where?!?
This is a 'Secret' where you needn't be concerned about doing anything quickly.
You can take your time and scroll around the map to see what has changed.
(In a way, this is a sort of "Rube Goldberg"ian insert into the CL.)
You go through one more BW next to that YTS and arrive at a place where you are once again called upon to employ that 'super duper pooper scooper'.
You turn up a set of Gauntletz (Tool #16). Seeing nothing better to do, you pick them up.
Gauntletz #3 "I hope you know what you're doing!"
Seeing no other option, you use your Toolz to do what they were designed to do ... the old "one-two" ... except you flunked boxing in physical education, so it's just the old "one".
"Dyn-o-mite!" You duck back and cover your head with those gauntletz.
After a moment or two, you realize that you are still in one piece, and see that most (if not all) of your work is being done for you.
Curiosity leadz you to wonder what that "?" Switch will do, so you run over and jump on it .
Now you know! Mighty wise of you to SAVE before you pounced.
If you failed to follow the Arrowz to their destination, you can alwayz go back and try again.
Stepping on the last Arrow , you see that you hit the JackPot!
You see lotz and lotz of Coinz (Coinz #043 through #119) being revealed.
You can start gathering them in immediately, or wait until all of the noise stopz, and you can gather them in at your leisure.
Be sure to make a slight detour to that CPS before you pick up the Warpstone and choose a BW to go through!
Warpstone When you pick up the Warpstone , you have to choose the correct BW to the King’z Fortress.
You also need to have the GPz lowered so you may reach your CPS , and someone to eliminate the Ice Crystal blocking your way.
