It Takes A Thief (by Gamer) ... WALKTHROUGH (by Gamer) You start off with one grunt, and once he leaves the platform he has to get the springz. If the springz were placed in a different spot, you could activate the black switch, but in this level, "it takes a thief" to fix this problem. Before you do that, send the grunt to the top right platform to fight the enemy grunt there. The way to battle to retain the most health is just to stand on the staircase and hop over one of the holes, hit the grunt, and then retreat. This way you avoid the enemy grunt recovering quicker and prevent him from boxing you into a hole. Once this grunt is dead, go to the thief grunt. He will stomp on you, but leave him after that. Go get the bottle of zap cola, being careful not to attract the swordz grunt. The two enemy gruntz should begin fighting. HUrry back to the fight and you will be able to hit the sword grunt twice before he recovers. At this point, 4 gruntz should be dead and there should be 4 goo puddlez. There is a goober straw in the platform below. Suck up all the goo and put the newly created grunt on the creation pad on the platform next to the goober straw platform. Then place your grunt below the clump of two trees, one above the other. The sword grunt should come and when he gets close to your grunt (usually when he's next to the clump of trees), move your grunt up and then send him up towards the lowered pyramid. He should be able to cross to the right of the pyramid before the it raises. If not, just try to make it again. When you do cross over, let the newly created grunt out from the platform. Then send both gruntz up to the hold switch and have the grunt in back press the hold switch so the pyramid goes down. Once the grunt in front goes to the left of the pyramid, have the grunt in back step to the left of the switch so the pyramid goes back up. The grunt in front should go attract the swordz grunt's attention so the pyramid goes down again, and quickly move the grunt in back left across the pyramid, and finally move both gruntz far enough from the swordz grunt to be out of his range. Send both gruntz next to the area below with the rolling balls. Send one grunt around the bottom part and into the wormhole. Have this grunt press the hold switch. Then send the other grunt around to the dock by the black pyramids and the yellow hold switch. The goal of the black pyramid part is to get in and out using the same path. You should save before attempting this part. SAVE! Move the grunt to the left, then down to the pyramid below. Then go to the right and down one pyramid. Then move one space to the right and move down to the yellow hold switch. Hold it down for a few seconds, and the rolling ball on the platform to where the other grunt warped in will have moved past the two directional arrow. Then follow the same path to the yellow switch at the start of the level, then back to this yellow switch. The green pyramids should go down. Once you are on the bottom yellow switch again, move off it after a few seconds so the rolling ball doesn't complete another loop and trigger the green switch again. Move the grunt around the rolling balls to the bottom right corner. Have the grunt step on the green toggle switch and get the springz. Then navigate through the spring maze, starting with the tile that the springz is on, by moving the grunt down, down-right, right 3 times, jump down, down-right, jump right, jump down-right, right, jump up-right, jump right. Press both of the green switches between the trees and then move the grunt to pick up the shovel, and then to press both blue switches. Also have the grunt press the bottom green switch in the E. Send your grunt to press the green switch by the springz maze. You can fill in a path across the sping maze. It's not necessary but may speed things up. (There isn't anything in any of the holes.) Then, move your grunt back to the E area and press the top switch inside the E. Move your grunt back to the switch by the springz maze. Then go press the top blue switch inside the S and the right most blue switch. Then move your grunt to the blue switch in the bottom right corner and get the coin behind the tree above the blue switch. Then send your grunt across all 5 bridges. Bring your other grunt over and give each grunt a tool. Then have the spyz grunt place the squeak toys so that you can later lure the bomb grunt behind the checkpoint switches to blow up the rocks in the bottom right part of this area by the bricks. Place the first squeak toy on the tile to the left of the tile bordering the goo pits and water. Place the second squeak toy in front of the right staircase, four tiles above the pressure plate. Place another squeak toy three spaces to the right of that one (on the left of the tree). Then give each of your gruntz one of the remaining squeak toys and have them step on the pressure plate that matches their tool. CHECKPOINT! Have your brick layer grunt attract the bomb grunt by first standing two squares down-right of him, and then moving up-left and up-right. This way, he won't move before he bombs. Then attract him for each of the toys so he moves across this area and eventually blows up the rocks. In the next section, the rolling balls are moving quickly, so the timing will be fairly tight. Have your grunt move up on the arrow when the ball is there and move to the opening. Then have him place a brick down on the brick pad and continue onto the arrow and out of the way of the rolling ball. Then set another brick down on the brick pad. Continue outside into the snow tiles and put a brick on the pad by the snow tiles. Then continue up onto the platform and down to put a brick on the pad below the platform. Send your grunt back the way he came and down to the snow area on the right side, and have him wait on the tile to the right of the up arrow. When the ball goes by, move your grunt quickly to beside the brick pad and have him lay a brick there. Have your grunt lay a brick on the brick pad below, and then send him down one square to lay a brick on the brick pad below that. Now send your grunt back up to the snow platform and out of this area. Save after you have done this. SAVE! You will come to a pool in which you must press certain hold switches to get the enemy grunt to step on the various yellow switches. This needs to happen quickly because the rolling ball in the top right corner will move depending on what is pressed. Although the rolling ball will move slowly, it's a good idea to do things as quickly as possible. Start by pressing the hold switch on the left. Wait until the rolling ball is on the square next to the left dock and then move your grunt off the switch to the switch third from the left. Wait until the grunt is below the trees and then move the grunt switch on the right side. Once the grunt is on the next yellow switch, send your grunt back to the switch on the left side, and when the grunt is above the two trees, send your grunt to step on the blue switch on the right again. The rolling ball should lower the black pyramid, so send your grunt to get the zap cola and through the arrows and onto the platform. Have your grunt press the green switch and head back through the green pyramid. Send your grunt to go get the megaphone and give your grun the gauntletz and then break all the giant rocks in this area except for the two rocks next to the thief grunt. (Don't forget to break the giant rocks by the king's fort, or the one close to the grunt creation point.) After breaking these rocks, save. SAVE! If you want to complete the level without getting a perfect score, break the bottom giant rock by the thief grunt and get the conversion powerup to convert him. Then bring this new springz grunt to the king's fort. Otherwise, break the bottom giant rock and instead send your grunt towards the king's fort but then send it around and through the intersection tile to lose the thief grunt. Break the giant rock at the top and then send your grunt to the swordz grunt to give it the squeak toy. Quickly have your grunt break the rock on the top left and get the coin and then send it to break the rock on the top. Have your grunt get that coin and leave this area. The sword grunt may seem like he used up the toy too quickly, but if this is done quickly your grunt will make it out of there in time. Then have your grunt break the rocks on the right side of this area except for the rock to the right of the black switch. (Make sure your grunt doesn't attack the defender grunt.) Send your grunt down to the area with the single bricks you just laid. Break the brick below the platform and then send your grunt to break the bricks by the green switches and then the brick in the middle that is above the down arrow. Have this grunt break the brick below the trees and then break the bricks to the right of the red bricks. Then break the top right normal and red bricks and bring the spy grunt through to this area. Send both gruntz back (the quickest way is using the arrows) and send your spy grunt to set down the squeak toy. After that, move it to the tile around where the thief grunt used to be, where the arrows are pointing to. Send your other grunt to pick up the toy, get the boxing gloves, and move to the area on the right and then save. SAVE! Have your boxing glove grunt move around the sword grunt, box him onto the switch, and give the sword grunt the toy. Then send your grunt down on the arrows and on to the secret switch. SECRET! Move your grunt across the platform and on to the newly formed bridges. Move it across the bridges as they appear and when walking on the second bridge on the right edge of the map, a teleporter will open, taking your other grunt to another spot on the map. Keep moving your grunt as normal until it gets off the bridges and onto the snow. SECRET! Send the grunt that didn't teleport down to the green switches in the area with the brick pads. Have your other grunt collect the coins and the A and step into the teleporter. While one grunt steps on the switches to lower the pyramids, have your other grunt move to get the two coins and teleport back. Then move your other grunt back and send the gruntz to pick up anything left behind except the conversion powerup. Then have the grunt with higher health attract the thief grunt and pick up the conversion powerup to convert him. Then have this grunt move toward the king's fort and jump over the holes. Have him get the warpstone and move to the king's fort. You got a perfect score! Tools: 8 out of 8 (The springz at the beginning, the goober straw by the grunt creation point, the springz and shovel by the goo pits, the spy gear and brick laying toolz by the checkpoint, the gauntletz in the megaphone, and the boxing gloves under the giant rocks at the beginning.) Powerups: 3 out of 3 (The coversion powerup under the giant rock near the thief grunt and the death touch and invisibility in the giant rocks near the megaphone.) Coins: 11 out of 11 (The coin behind the tree in the bottom right corner, the two coins in the rocks guarded by the sword grunt, the 6 coins in the brick area secret, the 2 coins in the green pyramid secret, and the 2 coins in the giant rocks located below the other giant rocks.) Secrets: 2 out of 2 (The secret switch in the rock to the left of the one switch at the top right area of the level, and the secret warp triggered in the pool in the top right area of the level.)
